Most recently, Dr. Schlüter has managed several projects in the field of high power laser as a consultant. Before that he was General Manager of HIGHYAG. Here he managed a group of 140 employees in the sales, service, development and manufacturing of High Power Optics for Solid
As COO of Technolas Perfect Vision GmbH, Munich he was responsible for the development, manufacturing and service of refractive surgical equipment. Among others this included excimer laser systems for LASIK treatment and femtosecond laser systems for flap and cataract
surgery. Before that he was Vice President Laser at TRUMPF Inc., Farmington, CT. There he was responsible for all North American laser activities of TRUMPF including the development, production, sales and service of high-power lasers.
Before that he was vice president and general manager of TRUMPF Photonics, a manufacturer of high-power diode laser sources near Princeton, NJ. Before that he was director of laser production and development for TRUMPF Inc. and director of technology for TRUMPF
Photonics. He has worked with high-power lasers for industrial applications since 1993 and holds several patents in the field of laser resonators and laser applications.
Dr. Schlüter has a PhD in Engineering and a masters degree in Physics both from RWTH Aachen (Aachen, Germany) .
